JD for Copy editor cum Writer and Sr Copy Editor cum Writer for TOI Tech (Two positions based in Delhi/NCR)

A graduate/post graduate in English and journalism/mass communication with an excellent vocabulary, grammar and proof-reading skills. Excellent command over English; both written and spoken language skills mandatory.

Experience of between two years (minimum) to six years (maximum) in a similar role at an online news/content site, magazine or newspaper.

Appreciation, understanding and flair for technology.

Keep a hawk eye on the tech industry for latest developments and announcements, including new launches, corporate news, trends across key tech segments etc.

Have and/or develop acceptable domain expertise to be able to analyse and/or write about various aspects of personal tech, including gadgets, apps, websites, ventures etc.

Review and edit copies as per TOI style guide, keeping in mind grammar and punctuation, and be able to deliver/upload a CLEAN final copy with zero errors and unaided.

File stories in CMS as per the laid down processes in order to update TOI Tech.

Look after the site and manage the regular content flow and update various sections. 

Maximizing traffic on the site with good exclusive and value-added stories along with proper tagging and SEO guidelines.

Manage and boost the social media presence of TOI Tech in consultation with Social Media and Product Teams.

Coordinating with team members and sometimes outside vendors/agencies and persons for supply of text, video and photographic content for the site.

Research background data related to products, services and companies in order to provide accurate information for stories.

To write original stories pertaining to personal tech domain.

Be able to, or develop capability to, write reviews, including smartphones, tablets, cameras, TVs and other gadgets.

Build and use industry/government contacts to gather data for exclusive stories/content.
